10 camping tips that will transform your trips

Are you planning to go camping in your RV this summer? If so, take note of these 10 tips that will help transform your trips. From planning your trip to packing the right gear, these tips will help make your camping experience a great one. Take the road to vacation with peace of mind and get ready for a successful getaway!

Tip #1 – Optimize Your Space

Whether you’re heading out for a week at the beach or a weekend in the wilderness, your choice of gear and luggage may be different. To keep your RV from looking like a storage solution, consider traveling with the bare necessities even if your RV has plenty of storage space. When it comes to your wardrobe, choose comfortable and versatile clothing that can be used for different types of activities.

Tip #2 – Have a road map on hand

Although many digital or GPS tools are now available, nothing is more reliable than a road map to find your way in case of signal failure. This is especially true if you are leaving the country. You can easily find maps of the areas you’re visiting online before you leave or at gas stations or tourist offices once you’re on the road.

Tip #3 – Bring tools for minor repairs

Beyond mechanical work, accessories may need adjustment during your trip. For example, consider having a set of fittings and an extra sewer hose on hand, “Tyrap” type self-locking fasteners and repair tape for your awning. Don’t neglect a tool kit that includes a screwdriver with several removable heads, wrenches and socket sets or any other tools related to the sports you play regularly.

Tip #4 – Plan your itinerary and make reservations

If it is true that the arrival of the pandemic has been beneficial for Quebec tourism, it is even more true to say that the number of travelers in recreational vehicles is growing rapidly. Whether it is to stay at a campground or to visit a site of interest, it is now a little more “risky” to leave without having made reservations. To avoid disappointment, it is best to plan your itinerary and make reservations according to your planned route.

Tip #5 – Get a cell phone booster

If you are one of those travelers who visit national parks or remote areas, be aware that cell signal reception may be variable. If you want to stay connected despite the remoteness of the area, consider a cell phone booster. Not only will you have consistent reception, but you’ll be able to make a call or enjoy technology in the great outdoors.

Tip #6 – Take time to slow down

Camping is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax in nature. However, it’s easy to get carried away and overdo it so you don’t miss anything when you’re on the road. Instead, take time to slow down and enjoy your surroundings. Remember to leave more room for spontaneity as you go about your day.

Tip #7 – Bring a portable stove

Although your RV is equipped with all the necessary equipment to cook indoors, there’s nothing more enjoyable than taking advantage of that camping time to prepare meals outside. Plus, you can even use this little gas stove to make a special picnic at your next waterfront stop.

Tip #8  – Use solar power when no service is available

Planning to stay in a campsite without services for several days? Using solar panels could be a good idea. You can power small appliances and charge your cell phones and tablets. Or, store energy for future use.

Tip #9  – Give yourself some technology-free time

Do you remember the last time you took in a beautiful landscape without sharing it on social media? Or seen a music performance without recording a video? On your next vacation, give yourself some technology-free time to fully enjoy the moment.

Tip #10 – Invest in your memories and family time

RV camping is a great way to spend quality time with your family. Whether you’re an experienced camper or a first-time camper this summer, don’t overlook your choice of activities and campsites. Make sure they meet your family’s needs. For the upcoming summer season, there is only one rule: have fun and create memories that will last a lifetime!
