1. Which RV Should You Pick ?
The first step to having amazing camping adventures is making sure you have the right RV for the job. If you’re not sure what kind of RV is best for you, head to your nearest Leisure Days Gatineau and speak with an expert. They’ll help you choose the perfect RV for your needs.
Everyone has different needs, but here’s what we did to set up our RV for all seasons. We’ve ditch the RV battery for two 6-volt truck batteries hooked up in series. This will give you plenty of power to last for seven days without having to recharge. You can also add a solar panel to the roof to keep the batteries topped off during long days in.
Be sure to get the proper hookups for your RV before you leave for your trip. Most RVs need 30-amp service, but some larger ones require 50 amps. You’ll also need a water hookup and a sewer hookup.
Whatever the weather is, you go the towable or motorhome route, keep your RV outfitted with season-appropriate tires with lots of tread, suitable for wherever your travels may take you.
2. How to setup your RV ?
Now that you have the right RV, it’s time to learn how to set it up properly. If you’re new to the world of RVs, this task can seem a bit daunting. But don’t worry! We’re here to help.
First, you’ll need to find a level spot to park your RV. Once you’ve found a spot, it’s time to start leveling the RV. You can do this by using leveling blocks or jacks. If you’re not sure how to use them, ask a Leisure Days Gatineau associate for help!
Once you have the RV level, it’s time to set up the awning. This is a great way to provide some shade and protection from the elements. Be sure to read the instructions that came with your awning, as each one is slightly different.
Next, you’ll need to set up your power. If you’re plugged into a power source, simply flip the switch to “on.” If you’re using a generator, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Now that you have power, it’s time to set up your water. If you have access to a tap, just connect your RV to the Water and hooked up to a water source. Then, simply open the valve and let the water flow into your RV. If you’re using a freshwater tank, be sure to fill it up before you leave for your trip.
Once you have water, it’s time to set up your sewer. If you’re hooked up to a sewer source, simply open the valve and let the water flow out. If you’re using a holding tank, be sure to empty it when it gets full. Be sure to use gloves at all times while manipulating everything connected to the tank to avoid bacteria.
3. Prepare for the Future, Be Smart, and Take Some Risks.
The best way to have an amazing camping adventure is to be prepared for anything. That means having the right gear, knowing how to use it, and being a bit fearless.
First, you’ll need the right gear. Be sure to pack all of the essentials, including food, water, shelter, and clothing. If you’re not sure what to bring, ask a Leisure Days Gatineau associate for help or look it up online!
Finally, you need to be a bit fearless. This doesn’t mean you should take unnecessary risks. But it does mean that you should be prepared to face any challenges that come your way. Be sure to have a positive attitude and an open mind to new adventures!
Once you’re on the road, it’s all about thinking ahead. Keep in mind that getting up to cruising speed will take longer, and passing other cars may not be an option. You’ll need to keep an eye on the weather for today and tomorrow. Make your favorite weather app your trusted sidekick; always use Google Maps with a traditional atlas. Large broadsheet maps will aid visualization of the area you are traveling across better than a tiny phone screen, and they never require internet or cell service.
Thinking ahead is especially important when winter RVing, since you must guard against frozen waterlines. Bring along a small space heater and keep it next to your water pump. If the temperature plummets, you can quickly thaw your lines and avoid a major disaster.
Ask your local dealer how to winterize your specific model. They’ll not only give you with any additional gear you’ll require, but they’ll also demonstrate just how simple the process is.
4. How To find the best location for an adventure ?
Without any camping site, where can you camp and how can you find the best spot? The best way is to look online for dispersed camping areas. But you should find the best place where you can have an adventure and then, remember that a RV can be a home anywhere for a short period of time, as long as you find a Camping to fill up water and empty the tank. See the Camping Quebec website for an updated list of campgrounds in the province of Quebec.
RVing is a great way to see more of the world and have amazing adventures. You can travel to new places, meet interesting people, and explore different cultures while doing what you love. I hope you’ll get a chance to try it out for yourself – it’s an experience you won’t forget.
